Ministers at St George's Church
Minister of St George's Church, Morpeth: Revd. Julian Sanders
As minister of St George’s United Reformed Church, I also serve as minister for the churches at Widdrington and Great Bavington, and as part of the South East Northumberland Ecumenical Area. My family and I live in Morpeth with my three boys all attending schools in the town, and my wife, Louise, who is herself training for ministry with the United Reformed Church at colleges in Scotland.
The three main areas in which I focus my ministry are: • preaching and teaching and making the bible accessible and relevant to life in the 21st Century • Creating community and helping people become part of a network of relationships in which they can grow and develop and be supported • Children’s and Youth work which remains for me an energising and creative area of ministry Previous to my post here I was a minister on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, serving the churches there and acting as Ecumenical Officer, Rural Advocate and Pastoral Advocate for the Norfolk and Waveney Area Partnership. Prior to that I spent many years in the chocolate industry and, I have to say, chocolate remains one of my many passions! |
Previous Ministers at Christmas 2019
Christmas Day 2019 saw a great event at St Georges when two of our retired ministers joined Julian Sanders, our current minister, for the Christmas Day Service. The photograph was taken by Shirley Forster and shows the three in front of the church: from left to right Revd. Julian Sanders, The Revd. David Brown and The Revd. Ron Forster
